a travel destination for eco-tourists, beach lovers and offbeat tourists
alike. The small beach village is hemmed in by high cliffs overgrown
with jungle where small rivers tumble down and form scenic waterfalls
and natural pools. Groups of capuchin monkeys live in the forests around
Montezuma and are easy to spot.

The hot spot of the nightlife scene is Chico's Bar right in the center
of Montezuma. The open air bar with dance floor looks out to the street
life on the front side and on the back has lounging by the sea where you
can watch the moon shimmering over the Gulf of Nicoya.
The organic market in Montezuma
Across from the Gulf, 50 km from Montezuma, is the mainland of Costa
Rica and there are taxi boats available to whisk you over to Jaco.
The hippie roots of Montezuma are most palpaple on the small farmers
market held each Saturday morning. Here you can buy organic food,
handicrafts and clothes, while musicians gather for a jam session.
