Costa Rica is a beautiful country
with a lot to do, but if you head there on a vacation without an
itinerary you are going to spend a lot of time trying to figure out what
sights you want to see instead of actually seeing any. If you are headed
to Costa Rica, it's in your best interest to make a schedule or
itinerary and try to stick to it as closely as possible.
If you get to
Costa Rica and decide to, "just go with the flow," and do whatever seems
fun you will most likely end up spending all of your time on the beach
sipping drinks and getting a tan (which isn't all bad). Do some research
before you head to Costa Rica and figure out what attractions and venues
hold interest to you and plan your trip around visiting those spots.
If you are looking for fun things to do, here are some of the top sights
in Costa Rica that everyone should see while they visit this adventurous
country:
Volcano Helicopter Tours - This is a fantastic night time activity for
tourists. The Arenal Volcano National Park has some of the best views
when it comes to staring into pits of molten hot magma. Your pilot/ tour
guide will show you unimaginable aerial views and take you right next to
the largest active volcanoes in Costa Rica. If you look closely you can
even see lava bubbling up and popping from inside the calderas of the
Volcanoes.

White Water Rafting - Costa Rica is famous for its white water rafting
trips that run through the country's lush rainforests. These boating
adventures are filled with adrenaline fueled bumpy rides that switch to
smooth and serene cruises as you get to soak in the sun, wildlife and
beautiful rainforest vegetation that surrounds you.
Explore Different Exotic Beaches - Manuel Antonio National Park is a
nature reserve that has beautiful white sandy beaches and further back
from the water is an amazing rainforest filled with gorgeous and dense
plant life. These forests are even populated by various types of
adorable monkeys. These shores tend to be a bit more isolated than the
major tourist beaches throughout the country. If you are looking for a
private getaway with the family, or a romantic day trip with an intimate
friend, Manuel Antonio National Park could be the perfect adventure.
Soak in Some Costa Rican History - If you are a history buff, or looking
to educate yourself, you should head to the Plaza de la Cultura were you
can find the National Theater and the Museum of Gold. The area around
the Plaza de la Cultura has some of the oldest colonial architecture in
Costa Rica and the insides of these buildings are beautifully adorned
with artistic gold interiors. The area itself is breath taking and the
history behind each building is fascinating.
Costa Rica's Famous Butterfly Farm - This may surprise you, but Costa
Rica is South America's largest exporter of farm raised butterflies and
home to numerous insect and bug museums. The most famous insect exhibit
is inside of the Hotel Chalet Tirol, where Dr. Richard Whitten displays
some of the most exotic species of indigenous bugs and insects.
Costa Rica has a lot to offer, and as long as you research where you
want to go and the types of attractions you want to see while there, you
will have a great vacation. Bon Voyage y tiene un buen viaje!
